Building insurance for house with subsidence issues

Hi,
I am buying a house that had some repairs for subsidence about 1 year ago. Apparently after the repairs it was monitored and deemed to be ok but the seller has advised us to use her previous insurer for continued coverage against subsidence.
The quote seems a bit expensive. Do we have to use the same insurer, or how would we go about getting quotes considering the previous claim that has been made?
(BTW We have booked a full structural survey, as we are not 100% prepared to trust everything the EA tells us!)
Thanks,
Maryjane

My guess would be that you would have to use the same insurer.
You could try getting quotes from others, but you would have to provide details of the problem and they may not cover is as they have no guarantee of the work that was done.
Personally I would want to take into account the extra expense of this and knock it off the offer.0
