Hi everyone
Question is in the title really.
We are getting a new boiler under the scrappage scheme. If we buy the cheapest (Ferroli) boiler we will spend £800 less than the most expensive (Worcester Bosch).
Does anyone have any knowledge of Ferroli Heatmax boilers and have you had any problems with them = or even any of the others.
Many thanks
Anne

I have a Ferroli, it is less than two years old but had to call them out 4 times so far to repair it. The only good thing is that there is a five year warranty, so we haven't had to pay for any repairs yet.0

Ferroli have now dropped the 5 year warranty!!
Personally I always recommend Broag and now Intergas.0 -
I had a Ferroli in my previous property and had no problems with it in the 3 years I lived there. I had one fitted around 3 years ago in my current house and it has broken once (faulty timer).0

My Glowworm Energysaver is 11 years old and has never ever had a problem, except last week when a bit of dirt fell down and blocked the igniter. This was a week after a BG service visit.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
We have a Baxi and it has never had a problem in over 10 years. I wouldn't been keen on a Ferroli from what I have heard through working in a Plumbers Merchant. Worcester and Vaillant seem the best bet although Intergas seem to be getting more popular and apparently they are much simpler internally so hopefully less parts to go wrong.0

I've had a Ferroli Modena 80e for 10 years. Not a squeak from it.
Can't comment on the newer models.0 -
We have a Worcester Bosch. Has worked fine for about 4-5 years.

At installation it was £200 more than a cheapie boiler.
I decided that was a difference worth paying. 2 year warranty etc....0 -
We had a Vaillant combi boiler in our previous house, it was a thing of beauty. Quiet, reliable, and to state the obvious, provided hot water on demand.
The present house has a cheap Baxi boiler which apparently doesn't have a thermostatic control on the hot water so we have to fiddle with the taps to get just the right flow rate to get hot water - by which time we have run a sink or even bath full of cold water.
I'd definitely recommend Vaillant - otherwise every time you try to run a bath you will curse your cheap boiler. If you are strapped for cash economise somewhere else!0
