I hope someone can advise me as I dont know what else to do
I won an item on ebay last Thursday and paid immediately using paypal.
Whilst I was paying the website crashed and asked me to submit my payment again (which I did).
When I checked my bank on Wednesday evening I noticed the transaction had gone throught twice.
I contacted the seller immediately to tell him what had happened and reqested a refund of the duplicate transaction - I was supprised he hadn;t noticed to be honest.
I also opened a claim on the paypal website to which they advised me to contact he seller direct etc and then closed then dispute offering no more help.
The seller has not contacted me at all, and all of his items for sale have now been removed.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do:eek:
Im ot of pocket by £62.99

Assuming the website you mention which "crashed" was the PayPal one, I would take it up with them about duplicate payment. If it's a dodgy seller and you don't receive your item, you may also be able to claim the fisrt payment via PayPal buyer protection.0

Just phone up Paypal and ask them to remove the second payment. You should have two separate transaction numbers proving you've paid twice.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Can't you sometimes retrieve a payment on Paypal ?
Have you explained to Ebay?
I have to say I hear more and more stories about Paypal and how useless they are.
I have a live link to Ebay online helpdesk, will dig it out for you0 -
When you say his items are removed, do you mean he has sold them all or he is no longer a registered seller?
Either way, what you should do is email paypal and inform them that the transaction has gone through twice for one item. They have a legal duty to look into this for you.
Secondly, if the seller does not send the item for you, just submit a claim (you have to wait a certain number of days to do this). When the seller does not respond, or cannot provide tracked delivery of the item, paypal will refund your money. Submit two claims if they won't deal with the double transaction issue. You do have rights......but you still need common sense.0
