Mail Order over send question

Options
Hi All

Quick question for you all.

Me and my wife both ordered a free talex speed camera detector thingy with a 10 month database subscription for £39.99.

We recieved our talex's ysterday, but we also recived an extra one each too which we didnt pay for or ask for.

Today we have both just recieved an email saying there had been an adminstration error and that they would like to get back their talex unit that we didnt ask for.

They have offered to send out a pre-paid envelope for us to send back or they have offered us a deal, where we pay £25.00 for a 12 month database subscription which is half price.

The question is this.

Do i have to send it back and do I have to pay the deal price. can I just keep it as it was their error. If i have to do either offer, can I counter offer them??

How do I stand legally?

Cheers
Gary

As far as l am aware as they have advised you of the error and are taking reasonable steps for you to return the unit i.e pre-paid envelope should you decide not to return it, it could be deemed as theft.

Although a little pointless, l believe you are within your rights to request that they make arrangements for the unit to be collected from you.
