We went to T J Hughes on wednesday evening and were really disappointed, as you say, happymummy24-7, it was not bargainous at all and a bit rubbishy tbh. Can't wait to go to Lakeland, I'll have to think of a cunning ruse to head over to Boucher and then suggest popping in!Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
Debt free date April 2016!!!!:eek:0 -
I'm just home from TJ Hughes and must confess to being dissapointed too.
To start off with...the carpark...which was never big enough even before this store opened...was manic !!!
The interior of the store is really bare and stark....all harsh lights and plain fittings..maybe this is how they can offer such good prices ???
There seemed to be lots of 'good' offers ( if the MRRP is anything to go by...) on perfume,bedding,steam irons,vacuum cleaners etc. The rest of the stock seemed to be quite poor quality and very 'basic'.
I'd say it's worth a visit from time to time if you're in the area, but T K Maxx is still my number one shop for bargains.0 -
Went to the shop on Thursday 25th March (yesterday) to purchase the 10f trampoline set which was advertised at £99 on the front cover of our Newtownabbey Community paper.
When I got to the shop I saw the trampoline was priced at over £99 (think it was £120 0r £130) so I didn't bother, but took a look around the shop and was disappointed and left empty handed - loads of !!!!.
Got home to check I had read the advert correctly and noticed the very small print at the bottom said 'offers end 18 March'!!!!! Which is really handy as the shop didn't open till 24 March and the paper was dated 24 March!!!!!!:mad:Groceries challenge
May - £70 so far:beer::beer:0 -
Hey Crusty!
I would ring them up and give them a bit of stick about that, it was on their radio advert (played on U105 I think) yesterday.

I have always found the Yorkgate centre a hideous place. I was there a couple of weeks ago and needed the toilet. Hidden away on the first floor above MacDonalds were the worst toilets I have seen for years - filthy and smelly, and both cubicles had broken locks.0
