Ok...now that Lakeland is here, the next exciting shop to open in Belfast is TJ Hughes....

''The CT and big brand discount department store TJ Hughes which
opens next Wednesday, March 24, is the first TJ Hughes store to open in Northern Ireland.''
“Located at Cityside Shopping Mall, Yorkgate, TJ Hughes gives Northern Ireland customers a chance to buy the latest big brand products at up to 60 percent off the recommended retail price,” said a company spokesperson.

qwintwins, Lakeland is a kitchenware shop....they do do a lot of trade via their catalogues, but they are also real life shops too, and a mecca for all housewives and househusbands.

I think T.J.Hughes is a bigger mix of things than T.K.Maxx - as far as I know they do lots of food as well as clothes and householdy stuff.

Edited to add: happymummy24-7 has been to T.J.Hughes and noticed that there was no food other than chocolate (though that would do me)

Lakelands on the boucher road! Right next door to Pets at Home, same block as M&S if you know where i am! lol. haven't been but my mum was there the other day and was pleased with it!

I've been in TJ Hughes in Weston Super Mare, random place yes! lol its quite good for some things, better layout than tk max, wasn't so much like a jumble sale over there! but like any shop it has random junk in it! we got winter woolies in it for bargain prices! worth a visit indeed! :)

  • well my mum and i went to tj hughs yesterday-very excited as we usually visit the one in Glasgow when we are over there-but left wondering why we had bothered lol the prices are hardly 'bargain' and the selection of kids clothes was very poor and very similar to what ladybird used to be!
The electricals again were over priced-if you know your prices before you go you wont be taken in by 'bargains' which are simply overinflated RRP prices so it looks like you are getting a discount!
I was really really looking forward to going but was really disappointed so was my mum-however if you like katie price last seaon duvet covers (ergh!) and memory foam matteress toppers (which are cheaper and better quality in dunelm mill) then its worth a visit!!!
oh and the only foos i seen for sale was tins of sweets!
maybe it will get better nearer christmas with cheap decorations but im not convinced lol.
.....now lakeland on the other hand was BRILL :j bought loads and the shop is lovely and very busy! well worth a visit!
    it takes more energy
    to hate than to love...
    love and relax!
