I've just got a new computer with Windows 7 installed and previously had Windows XP. I used Nero as a programme to copy my dvd's onto and then take screenshots. It's the only way I know how to do them! Nero wasn't transferred over as I don't have the disc and it was the computer shop who previously installed it for me using their disc. I could download Nero for a month's trial but I can't afford it after that so mustn't even look at it!! Can someone explain in simple steps to me how I can take screenshots now please? Thank you

If you just want an image of your computer screen, then hold down ctrl and press the button marked
prt sc (its usually one of the keys along the top of the keyboard and it will have a rectangle around prt sc)
Then open a word document and right click then paste.
Your screen shot will appear in the document.“Careful. We don't want to learn from this.”0 -
I want to do a screenshot of someone from the DVD as it is playing. I used to "pause" and then hit the camera icon. Well at least that's how I did it with Nero

Hi
If you play your DVDs with VLC media player, it has a 'snapshot' option.
Like using the camera icon on your other program.
VLC is a free download from here:-http://www.videolan.org/Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -

That often won't work for Videos, because of the way DirectShow works0 -
I'm not a Windows user, but can't you just hit prt scr during the movie? I think that should do the trick.
If you're playing on full screen that should do the trick. VLC is also a nice option as said before. Great thing about these two is that both are FREE.

I have used "MWSNAP" for years. You can capture whole window, or defined area of desktop. Works well. http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/index.html0

I noticed it hasn't been updated since 2003. Is it safe to download as it comes up as an unknown source? Thanks.0 -
