Paid by cheque for ebay item

I paid for a buy it now auction on ebay, i always use ebay but this seller did not accept ebay so i sent a cheque for £17.50, the money left my account on 30/6 but the item has never turned up, ebay member never replied to my emails, i but in a dispute and now the sellers status says no longer a registered member, where do i stand as far as getting my money back?

I take it you mean you usually pay with paypal?
Your chances aren't good I'm afraid... paying via cheque means that in the event of a claim via ebay's standard protection means that you will incur a fee of £15 out of the refund ebay will obtain for you.
Do you know why the seller was NARUd? (became unregistered)My TV is broken!

Unfortunately cheques are not a secure method of payment and as has already been pointed out an ebay claim is going to cost you £15, it looks like you may have to accept the loss.

A BIN with immediate payment requires paypal, but all other BINs can have any form of payment that the seller chooses.

Hi, Can you pull the details and phone the person up!! that is fraud they have stolen your money.
I have had this happen to me and lost out you may have to just put it down to experience. what was their feedback like?
