Cheap Tenerife Excursions???

Hey,
Off to Tenerife in a few weeks and was wanting to book some excursions before we go. Especially like the look of Mount Teide by night, but the Thomsons price per adult for this is £70 (although it does include a 4 course meal and 6 hours away it seems quite steep).
Anyone know of any good websites to try?
Thanks

Hi
firstly I apologise to all if I get this wrong as it's my first reply & whilst I've read the rules I'm a little unsure.
In respect of your request I too am off to Tenerife at the end of August which I booked through the net. The company sent me the following link for excusions, I think it covers costs but you'll need to investigate & it may help you book something before you go. Hope it helps.
Try https://www.atlanticdolphintravel.com (sorry haven't worked out how to make it a direct link).:j
However a colleague at my place has advised me to wait till I get there as there are loads of places where you can book when you are there so I think that's what I'm plumping for!0 -
I would definetly wait till you get there as prices are usually alot cheaper."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Not quite sure I see the point of Mt Teide by night
Wont it be dark?
I went up during daylight, and is certainly worth a daylight visit, but is always shrouded in cloud from about 11am so dont expect panoramic views of the island.I know nothing - really!!0 -
Yes wait till your there, you will get a much better deal.
Tiede by night is suppose to be wonderful.0 -
Don't book anything before you go, wait until you get there and compare the prices.
If you are staying in Las Americas there is one bus a day to the cable car
Line 342 leaves PLA at 09:15 calling at Los Christianos
returns at 15:15 takes 1 hr 30 mins
348 goes from Puerto de la cruz.
Titsa bus web site: https://www.titsa.com
Buy a discount 'bono card' at the bus station or some shops may sell them, get half price travel anywhere, 12 euros a ticket, just validate it in the machine and it will discount the fare until it is used, also if you have a connecting bus that one is free.
Forget Thomson excursions, they are a rip off, like everything they will try and sell you on the aircraft, forget trying to sleep ;-)
like buy an ice cream for the movie LOL
You can travel just about anywhere by the local bus, if you prefer an excursion lots of places do them.
Teide by night is for stargazers, lots of people go up there to look at the stars, we sat next to a couple who were on a stargazing holiday, they were staying at the Parador in Teide national park.

As the others have said, you'll be spoilt for choice with travel agents and small booking offices once you get there - especially in the main southern resorts.
However, why not consider a hire car? You'll see so much more, and for a lot less money (we paid £84 for the car and the fuel is much cheaper than the UK).
We've holidayed there the last two summers and travelled extensively around the island very cheaply with a car.0 -
thanks for all the replies guys, youve all been so helpful. Will definately be waiting til i get there. Thomsons just seemed to sell the Teide by night trip really well on their website! lol! Think the day sounds like a better option, and at least you can pick when you want to go too. HAve thought about hiring a car but there arent too many places to park and transport in tenerife is so good that its not that necessary. Thanks everyone for your comments though, they were really helpful0

Definitely go on one of the Dolphin trips, you can get a good deal when your in Tenerife. Probably around £20 per person and you'll get to nip out for a swim in the sea, it's great. The Dolphins follow the boat, spin round and do some tricks whilst everyone is watching.
Mount Teide - this was a definite no no for me as the bus goes up a narrow pathway all the way up the volcano and it's very very steep. I suffer from vertigo - fear of heights etc and couldn't face the free fall drop down and up Mount Teide. One guest said that there was folk being sick at the back of the bus because of the free fall drop - so be warned if you suffer from this.
