Oops, wrong: it's worse than that. The recent well-known "Chip and PIN" vulnerability applies to online use (google for "chip and pin broken"). It seems that could be fixed with a technical change in the future, but as far as I know that hasn't been done.
So, not nearly as low risk as I had thought, though I imagine that simpler attacks, such as finding out your birth date and mother's maiden name, are more common than this kind of thing (that may not last, though).0
