Charges as Noified by Halifax

Options
I've just been off the phone with Halifax with an argument that when they charge me they call them "Charges as Notified" yet my last 4 charges I was not notifed.

Do I have a case with them on this?
I work a 45 hour week. 12 hours round trip every day.

My money I have I invest on my blog. Any questions or help offered? I'd love to hear from you.

You mean interest charges? IIRC the notification is on the bottom of your previous statement.

No bank charges. The charges everyone is trying to reclaim.

Says on my statement "Charges as Notified" ye the last 4-6 charges I have received no notifications.

Have you checked the bottom of your statement from last month?

Have you asked them how they've notified you?

    They usually notify by mail.

When I called to ask they said it is only out of courtesy that they notify me. Yet the call them "Charges as Notified" which IMO means I should have been notified about the charge.

Now I wonder do I have a case to fight against the last 4-6 that no mail shot was sent?

Let me get this straight. When you signed up to the account you were advised of the penalties associated with the account through the T&C's and all their guff. You had the opportunity to decline their offer of services then. You never disputed these proposals when things were fine and in your favour.

Then you ran your account in a way that incurred these charges, and you have a problem with it.

They did notify you through there agreement, prior to you incurring the charges.

Take a read of your account details, and check if advise that they will contact you in each instance. I don't see any reason why they should need to contact you if you have a grip of your account. Disputing their charges based on your argument seems weak IMHO, and you seem to be clutching at straws.

Calm down brother/sister you're way off and even beginning to make up stuff that I never even mentioned. The sign of someone who's a bit hot headed and even when there is no need to be,. I'll send my doc round yours later eh?

Seriosuly though I only asked about my charges been called "Charges as Notified" yet not being notified about them means they aren't necessarily charges as not fied but rather just charges.

It's false in other words but I wonder does anyone know more detail to this and IT's NOT ABOUT CLAIMING BACK MY BANK CHARGES JUST THE LAST 6 THAT THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME ABOUT!

You haven't answered my original question: are the charges on the bottom of your last statement, regardless of what they usually do.

FWIW unless your T&Cs say they must tell you in advance about fees before they can charge them (unlikely) I don't think you have a case, simply on the basis of the wording on a line in the statement.

So basically do you know you were going to get the charges but are just trying to get out of it because you haven't had a letter telling you about the charges you know were due?

    Very poor IMO.

I think YOU should calm down. Dreamypuma is making a fair point, which could save you some embarrassment if you check it out before going full bore.

  • prior to the new charging arrangements at Halifax it states in their t&c's that they will give you 14 days notice prior to taking any charges out of your account - Not sure what the new T & C's say though.
