  • Re the above. Absolutely. At then moment you may have to pay (probably wont as discussed) a relatively small fine. Lie in court and get found out, and youve got perverting the course of justice to your name. Not really worth it for £50.

Having said that, I personally would take the advice of most people here and not reply to any letters you get. But dont lie in court for the sake of a £50 fine!!!!!!!

It's not a "fine" but an invoice, as it has no basis in statute, and is purely contractural in nature. The parking company are committing an offence themselves if they try to pass the invoice off as a fine. But you should not lie under oath in a civil (County) court either, as you can face penalties.

You just go to court and say that you were not the driver of the car.
A better idea would be to refuse to say who was driving the car, as they can't force you to say. Then they have no evidence it was you driving and their claim is even more baseless.

Ignore the ticket and the letters that will probably still follow, all half a dozen of them. UKPC don't do Court, here are the letters they and their debt collectors will send (see examples for UKPC):

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2214803

Remember that debt collectors are not bailiffs, they have no powers, even if they phone you up just leave them hanging. They'll give up if you don't respond but do check out the letters to expect first, so you don't panic when they arrive. PCS is the last letter I think, they sometimes phone people but so what, they can't so anything as you don't actually owe anything that they can legally enforce.

Do read the example letters as I doubt that your McDonalds man actually stopped the ticket, even though he said he did.

Either way, don't pay and just forget about it.

  • I have got one of these parking charges and it states that they have photographic evidence on file to support this claim. However on visiting the website to view this photo evidence it only shows the vehicle entering and then leaving a car park but shows no evidence of which carpark. Could someone please confirm if it is still advisable to ingnore this correspondance.

Yes completely ignore the scammers, the tickets are just invoices, though probably taste better than a big mac ;)
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

There's a similar thread here from a few days ago, read all the replies and relax. It's a scam:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/34518347#Comment_34518347

I didn't want to repeat my post yet again - I seem to copy & paste it every day on here at the moment - but if you read my reply on there it includes a link to a youtube recording of a recent Watchdog item on what to do with a private parking ticket with your car's photo on it!

Paper aeroplane fodder, that's all it is, and the letters that will follow. Don't panic, don't pay.

See also the link I gave on there, to our thread which shows pretty pictures of the letters you will receive from the company. Those pics are more interesting for you to study than the rubbish pics on the PPC website!

    :)

This is not a scam, everyone is lying. They all work for the PPC's and know if tyou ignore they make more money when they get to court. The thousands of identical threads here are all lies as well.

Just do a search for Macd's on this board, and you'll see that your thread is exactly the same as another 50. The advice to them of 'ignore, ignore, ignore some more' is again all lies.

All the other advice on the web [of 'ignore, ignore, ignore some more' ] is again all lies.

There have been millions of successful court cases won by the parking companies; it's just that they have all been deleted from the web by the liars that are out there.

These people are not your friends....but I am.

Pay up or you will go to prison.
