sorry to interupt guys

ive got a viewing booked at a venue next week http://www.tintohotel.co.uk/ (not great site) where i won a competition for a cheaper venue well they seem to be doing it about cost price to try and restart the trade. the place has good reviews but is about an hour away (a problem without a car) and id need to put on a bus but im baisically only paying for the honeymoon suit for a night and the drinks before breaking even. its anytime until 2012 but i dont know where id have the ceremony.

but all the same really excited about going!! thanks hayley

Hope you don't mind but I thought rather than taking the my big day thread off topic we could chat here!

That place looks really nice. And the bus thing would probably be cheap enough to do - you could always have a collection tin at the front!!! (Most people would chuck a pound or two in if they saw one)
Is there a church/Registry office near by? Maybe you could go and see them and see what they suggest?

How exciting!!!

xx

  • lol sorry i wasnt on yesterday thanks and its very sweet of you to do that. Im glad im not just annoying everyone with wedding plans when i dont have anything booked yet.

im not sure whats nearby. Its not really an area ive been to much but it is totally beautiful and im hoping to see something or ask in the hotel as apparently they used to be very popular for weddings. I dont think a hotel wedding is for me but that might be because i always pictured a church wedding when i was little and hate the chairs in hotels.

    thanks hayley xx

    hate the chairs in hotels.

That made me chuckle! I'm sure if it used to be popular there must be a church nearby, or if you are putting the bus on then you could get married at home hop on the bus and boogie on down!

  • lol maybe we could get married here then go but i think id rather not travel inbetween and then do we go in the car with my parents or the bus? im not going with in laws his mother will be gutted when we tell her. she was devestated when we moved in together.

Anyhows i just think the chairs with the covers are nice for receptions but i think i just pictured pews or like wooden chairs. i couldnt have a church wedding it would just be hypocritical of me but plan on having a look on wednesday when our appoinment is.
  • Why was she devastated - grumpy bat.
Not sure how you're going to get the pews without the church... unless you go for the ruin castle thing you were looking at before? But I guess that's not near enough?
Sod the bus, you need a helicopter!!!

And it depends if you want to feel special and spend some time with your hubby, or let everyone tell you how wonderful you look on the coach. I'd go with hubby personally (mine though, not yours... don't worry).

lmoa! this made me laugh im not the kind of person who likes that kind of attention

i would have a helicopter but not sure i could afford if and my oh is scared of flying (wants to take the bus for honeymoon and im not having it)

and as for my future MIL she just doesnt like me and stopped being nice to me when she realised we were serious. When he told her he was moving out she yelled at him left in hysterics and cried for several hours at her sisters. We decided to leave telling her about the engagement til the next night lol!

Tell him he can take the bus and you'll fly, and in the extra day you get on holiday he can pay for you to have massages etc!!!

MIL2B sounds like a trout! Sounds like OH had a lucky escape moving out from hers! We'll all be happy for you :-)

  • awww thanks hayley shes horrible but my mum has a horrible MIL and she now just sees her like 2ce a year so iim hoping to follow in those footsteps. my parents still havent met her so thatl be fun as well lol gives you good stories though!

i had contemplated telling him id get an extra day there but he would actually get the bus. He sat on one for 36hours to get to italy a few years ago.
  • At least you'll have your hubby! That's what matters - even if you do have to pay £750 for a coach!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol i sense an argument about it coming but hopefull he can take something to calm him down and just fly. Its not even a fear i could understand that but he just doesnt like it and the only time hes ever flown was when he was 7 to america. Thats a long flight for someone so young and hes prob remebering it a lot worse than it was. (espec as he was with his mother)

ohh i feel like a bad person shouldnt say such things!
