can anyone give me an idea on what praia da luz on the algrave is like and approx how long it will take to drive there from the airport faro i think it is

I haven't actually been to Praia da Luz, but it's not far from Lagos, so I expect it will take you between 1 and 1.5 hours from Faro

Have stayed in Praia da Luz a couple of times and enjoyed it a lot.

The resort itself is just past Lagos.

I reckon about an hour and half at the most if you use the motorway.

The area itself is a bit more expensive than Lagos. Theres a nice restaurant right on the beach front plus a couple of small supermarkets.

Theres also a big Intermarche supermarket just before you get to Lagos from Luz where we used to stock up.

There is a promenade along the front beside the beach where most of the restaurants are based. This leads up to a small sqaure where there are a couple of bars.

Its all flat around the promenade area but theres a couple of steep hills up to the top road out of Luz.

Regular bus service to Lagos which I would also reccommend a visit and evening meal there.
