CCLS were in the process of pursuing a claim for me against First Plus for Payment protection insurance on a loan. I did not pay them anything for this. I have been informed they have been closed down. Prior to this they had told me that I could possible receive a considerable ammount. What can I do now as they cant pursue this for me?

Hi I am in a similar position, after being scammed by these shower back in 2008 for £495 to investigate a loan I had with Welcome. The solicitor informed me that they were investigating the enforceability of the loan ( Loan was paid back in 2004) and led me to believe that I would be entitled to the entire amount refunded plus interest. The matter was listed in court and was going forward however I was contacted at the start of Feb 2010 with an offer for 2k for the PPI substantially less than what was discussed. I accepted the offer as i decided to cut and run however I have heard nothing since, I do not know who made the offer Welcome have no record of it, nor does First plus. I know that others are in a worse situation with nothing being done on their claims. I have no idea where the money is or if there was even an offer made.

Blimey campers. I bet if your PPI was with firstplus then it was far more than this £2K that you would be due back. What a shame as you could have done it all on your own for JUST the PPI. Who told you of the offer of £2K?

I was informed by the solicitor at CCLS I still have the email confirming what we would be receiving however Gordons who took over CCLS informs me they cannot find any record of it, will await to see the file and probably pursue it myself.
