I Bought a Car back in December from thecarpeople (manchester) with 25k miles on the clock. I purchased a 2 year £300 Warranty.

1,000 miles down the line, i send it into repair, Rear Wheel Bearing has dettached and is making a noise. I speak to Warranty company who give me the good old "wear and tear" Blabble, and my claim is declined. They would only pay out if the Bearing collapsed or wheel fell off.

BUT, because i have reported the claim, if the bearing Collapses and eventually the wheel will fall off then i am not covered for this any longer, as i am driving with a known fault!

So if i dont pay, i risk the wheel falling off (possibly ending my life :T) and not being paid out.

I spoke to the Carpeople who say there is nothing they can do, even though they sold me a car that after 1,000 miles and 4 months has a fault and i am hit with £150 bill...

Is there anything i can do??

P.S to cancel my warranty is £50 admin fee.... eh

I don't think there's much you can do, hopefully someone else has some ideas, it's a lesson we all seem to learn the hard way about aftermarket warranties and the paper they are written on.

Wheel bearings are the same as tyres mate, eventually they just wear out and need replacing. Its not so much a fault as an inevitability.

I'm sure a local garage could change a rear wheel bearing for less than £150 though.
