Feu superior

We're in the middle of buying a house in Scotland, and have just got the paperwork. The estate (housing area, not farm) has a Feu Superior and there are various conditions on the residents (Feuars).
Has anyone dealt with this before - any advice, or useful weblinks where I can read about how it works?
The conditions are things like - without written permission of the Feu Superior we can't keep a caravan, trailer or boat on the property, put up any extension or erection (I think this includes garden sheds) and the garage may only be used to store a car, motorbike or non-hazardous domestic goods (which might include things like my oh's scuba diving tanks or welding kit). Also no more than one cat or dog per property!
Will obviously be talking to my solicitor about it but any plain English advice would be welcome!!

Apparently passed in 1999, the Abolition of Feudal Tenure seems to have done away with this at a stroke.
Perhaps the title deeds still include this for historical reasons, but it might be no longer applicable?
Can only suggest - consult your solicitor (who, I hope is a Scottish solicitor, or one familiar with Scots law)
