Online payments to CSA

I wonder if there would be any merit in the unfit for purpose CSA to allow online credit/debit card payments on their website.
I was talking about it today, I would have found it handy if I wanted to make an extra small payment to my arears which I once had without the pain of having to phone them.
Anyone else think this is a reasonable idea?

When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

I think that's a great idea, would be just like paying off a catalogue bill.
Maybe you should write and suggest it!!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
A great idea......but......after all the horror stories of CSA mess ups regarding payments/wrongful assessments etc. would you really trust them with online banking payments? eek!0

There must be the capability to do it already as if you want to get your file under the DPA you ring them with your card number and they process it. A word of warning though, I think it took them a week to process mine, so if they had a large number to do I can imagine that it could take some time!!Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0

You are correct they can accept credit and debit card payments over the phone I was talking about online payments! IE, made via their website!borders_dude wrote: »I wonder if there would be any merit in the unfit for purpose CSA to allow online credit/debit card payments on their website. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

I wouldn't trust them with that no matter what security they claim on their website .I have a bill payment setup on my account with my ref number .
It is recorded on your bank statement and also your bi annual account that they send you0 -
yes thats a good method of payment but it doesnt allow ad hoc payments to be made. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

Yes it does
I had a standing order set up and i used to pay additonal direct to the account number (with ref) .I had records of this and it also showed up on my bi annual statements .
That way i controlled the payments and had proof it was sent if the need ever arose .
I had to rely on my bank once to produce a schedule of regular payments and additional payments which the bank done for me for £10 as this was needed in court evidence .0 -
I stand corrected, but I still think there many be a sound case for allowing online payments as per my original posting at the top of this thread. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

i think this would be a great idea - i can put it forward to our communication team for their consideration
At the moment the reason it takes payments up to 5 days to show on the case is that we use a system from royal bank of scotland to collect card payments and this then shows on CS2 whenever the payment is actually received by the agency.
Just to add though that you can always make a small extra payment towards your arrears by calling - everyone in the agency has access to the payment systems so the first person you talk to can take a payment you dont need to speak to the case officer.
Hope this helpsComp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0 -

Im banned from calling so thats not an option from me. One shouldnt record the phonecalls they have with the CSA and then upload them to the internet.!. I only done it to highlight the fact that most phone calls were contradicting themselves and my case was in such a mess it was becoming such a bleeding nightmare. Thankfully it all worked out fine and they admitted maladministration. I was pleased to get money but its a pity I cant phone them.lolWhen dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0
