Help! The Boiler is Broke!

Does anyone know of a decent and reliable plumber/boiler engineer in Gloucester?

Our old chap retired and I got up this morning and there is no hot water and the heating is not working either.

It was a bit of shock when I jumped in the shower!

Please if someone could recommend anyone I have tried looking on the internet but most places direct me to someone miles away or the page no longer exists.

Thank you so much.

If he can't, try the boiler manufacturer's web site. They often have a "Find a local installer" page, if you use one from there, at least you know they have been trained on the right boilers.

If you want advice on this, it would help to post the make and model of the boiler, and the nature of the problem. 'Boiler's broke' does not really give much of a clue...
First thing to check is whether the boiler is getting power or not, is the fuse/circuit OK?
Have you just tried turning it off for a few minutes and then on again?

Its a worcester Bosch 240 combi boiler

It has power but the heating doesn't come on or the hot water you can hear it engage but then it doesn't do anything.

    The pilot light is fine

I don't know if that helps.

What about the water pressure, is that up to required level?

yes water pressure is fine and the circuit board works and shows what it is supposed to.

If it is getting power and gas, then best guess is that is won't fire up due to low pressure.
What pressure does the gauge show? If necessary top up the pressure using the filling loop.
The instructions should indicate what pressure it should normally be at.
Is there water discharging outside from the relief valve overflow?

Are you talking about the general water pressure in the property, or the system pressure in the boiler shown on the gauge?
According to the manual, the red line is the required pressure and the white needle is the actual pressure:

I'm not an engineer but have had loads and loads of problems with my combi (and my mum's too) When you say circuit board shows what it should, do you mean digital display? What does it say?

general water pressure is fine and so is the boiler on the gauge. Thanks for the info.
