Another one with a surprise 4th on the way - but we'll all cope, dh is hoping this one is a boy because he figures boys with a nearly 6year gap can share but girls with 10/9 years gaps probably would be worse

Hi, and congratulations! i'm the youngest of four and have three myself - aged 15, 5 and 9 months. We have a very small 3 bed semi, couldn't afford to move so we found a local builder and converted our garage into a bedroom for our eldest. This now means they each have their own room - The conversion, inc decorating, furnishing etc cost £4k, so not too bad - if this is an option, it may be worth considering?

Cars: The best people carrier (imo), would be a Galaxy 06 onwards. These are roomy, easy to drive and big enough for while your children are growing. If you go for the older sharan/galaxy/alhambra model then try to go for one later than an 04 plate.. you can remove the rear two seats in these, but bear in mind you'd have to store them!

buggys - i'd recommend the phil and teds, or if you prefer side by side twins, then the m&p pulse or a maclaren should be easy to pick up on ebay...
