Paypal Transfers - Hidden Delay & Cost

A friend recently transferred some money to me using Paypals "Same Day Service". It cost 10 pounds I believe. What they did not tell her was that it would take me 3-5 days to have the money transferred from my Paypal account to my bank account. Alternatively I could have it in 1-2 days by paying an additional 10 pounds. In the event I opted for the free transfer and it took the full 5 days.
What a great result for a "same day" transfer! Best not to consider using them as most UK banks now operate same day transfers from your account.
I may report them the to the FSA if I can be bothered but certainly will avoid using their service and would advise anyone else not to do so.

I wasn't aware that PayPal offered a "same day service". Withdrawals from PayPal to bank account always take 3-5 days. The only thing that is instant is the transfer between PayPal accounts.0

I agree....the only thing your friend would have paid for is if they transferred the funds directly into your bank account. Otherwise internal paypal transfers are instant and she wouldn't have paid anything. i smell an under inspired troll perhaps....?Debts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

That merely agrees with the other posters. Transfers to bank accounts from a paypal account take approx 3 days normally, however paypal to paypal transfers are instant.
I also agree with the other posters that I cannot see any service that a sender would need to pay £10 for to get an instant transfer to another paypal account any quicker.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yeah but the top it says GBP faster to your bank 1-2 business days costs £5.00.
Then the normal service 2-3 days free.
We all get confused at times so they could be wrong at the £10.00 cost.
I dont know where the same day transfer as come from though.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
