London Theatre Offers - any good ones?

Hello,

I'm planning to go to London around 18th Feb and was wondering if anyone knew of any BOGOF vouchers or offers for Friday night showings? Where is the best place to buy tickets and what is good atm?

I was told the best thing to do was go to the TKTS Booths in Leicester Square or at Canary Wharf on the day you plan to go to the Theatre. You can get the best priced tickets half price.

I haven't done it yet so don't know how successful this is.

Half price ticket office in Leicester square has exactly that. Availability obviously varies. Get there early and see whats available.

I have been using this for ages, take a look at the seating plans, they mark all the seats in colours (ie red = never buy) its an A1 guide to shows.

The Monkey is essential for all theatre goers, always print the seating paln before booking to make sure you get a good seat.

Somes places the best sets are not where you would expect either.

The half price tickets booth tends to give half price discount on the most expensive seats available so I wouldn't recommend them.

If you are flexible about what you want to see I would advise going to the actual theatre box office on the day a couple of hours or so before the performance.

Personally I always buy the cheapest seats because invariably you can shift seat shortly after the performance starts to a better one. This has worked a number of times for me. On one occassion (seeing Festen) I was upgraded to the front row because the theatre wasn't busy.

Some shows are always quite expensive so if you really want to see them then you have to fork out (eg Lion King).

It's also worth checking out the Royal Opera House for performances, stunning building and tickets for £5.00. Also the London Coliseum.
