I'd put it on with a really negative description so only your friend would want to buy it. However the question has got to be, why?

If you want to do it via ebay just do a BIN listing and call it whatever you want (eg for fred flintstone.) no details, no pictures just the price and postage. Then give the buyer the link and they can buy it. (remember you still have all fees etc)

I've done this before as the buyer wants paypal /ebay protection (which is better on ebay sales than off ebay sales) and i'm quite happy to sell via ebay as long as my fees are covered. If you look aroiund quite a few people do it. It may not be the OPs friend just a customer so both parties may be happier this way

The other reason can be a custom item. Which I have had when I have bouight a couple of things before.

You'll pay a fee for the best offer. (not sure how much it is off the top of my head)

I'm sure it was once possible to do a listing and allow only a specific person in buyer requirements.

I also think your title and description will need to be accurate to cover you and the buyer.
