May have to move sometime this year

Ok just after Christmas I got a letter from my Letting Agent, telling me that my Landlord was planning to redevelop the property I am residing in, and turn it into a bunch of Holiday Flats or something.

My Letting Agent is telling me that they do not know how much time I have before the Landlord puls the trigger as it were but they suspect I have a few months at least.

Anyway this means that I am now waiting for the letter telling me I have x months notice to quit.

Waiting, however, is probably not the correct word as it implies inaction :p I am currently browsing for prospective new homes as I write this (well not exactly as I write this, thats on a separate tab in my browser, and I only have one pair of eyes :p)

I have already stated my displeasure at this news - especially as I like the place I am in, and have asked the Letting Agent with whom I rent my current abode, to provide me with details of any suitable properties as they come up.

However I have stated that I am aware that if they cannot find a suitable property before the Landlord says "Get Out" then I will be forced to go to another agent to dins a new home, which will mean administrations fees on top of the costs of being forced to move home (time off work etc).

The question I have is...

Do I have any recourse that could put pressure on my current Letting Agent to donate towards the costs of administration fees incurred by having to use a different Letting Agency?
In dreams there are no impossibilities

To be honest, you might not even get a discount if you stay with the same agent.

No, you have no recourse to put pressure on the LA to donate ... they'll laugh in your face. (It's always worth asking though, just in case)

This is one of the really annoying bits about private renting .... never knowing when you'll have to shove your hand in your pocket for new fees, new deposit and moving costs.
