When does the old style £20 note cease to be a legal tender? I heard that it will not be a legal tender by end of June 2010.
How does one change a large amount? Would the banks exchange them or do you have to put them into your account?

While going through my filing cabinet i found an envelope containing £200 in old £20 notes. (Envelope which i misplaced over a year ago).
Looking at the Bank of England i can either visit the branch (3hr+ journey) or post the old notes to exchange for new £20 notes.
Is there any other bank like Halifax etc that would exchange the notes?
Am thinking of sending money in several enevelopes if not one. Was wondering how much can be insured in one envelope.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

On the Bank of England site:Some banks, building societies, and Post Offices may still accept the most recent of the notes withdrawn from circulation for deposit to customer accounts or exchange for current series notes. However, agreeing to exchange these notes is at the discretion of the individual institution.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Try your bank - I paid some into mine in September 2010.
The Bank of England will ALWAYS honour the notes at face value (link).
