B.Gas or E.on?

Hello,
I don't normally venture into this part of the board, so please be gentle with me!

I am currently on British gas Essentials tarriff for Gas and Elec. I pay my electric by monthly direct debit but gas quarterly (I don't know why, and trying to get someone at BG that is competant enough to sort it is nigh on impossible!)

Does anyone know if E.on has a better tarriff for us (3 bed terrace) and do E.on offer nectar points?

Many thanks
Jenhug

Eon do Tesco points on some tarriffs. Put your figures into one of the price comparison sites shown at the top of this board to see who comes out best.

As you are on the BG social tariff, it may be worthwile contacting E.On directly to see if you qualify for their social tariff scheme (different suppliers have different eligibilty requirements)

Why not contact the others too? They may not offer nectar or tesco points, but may save you hard cash instead. :) The points are only worth about 0.5% discount.

(Still worth checking the comparison sites though to make sure there isn't a generally available tariff that would be cheaper for you than a social tariff)

The various tariffs you are after:

    BG - Essentials
    S&SE - Energy Care Plus
    E.On - Warm Assist
    EDF - Energy Assist
    npower - Spreading warmth
    Scottish Power - Fresh Start

At typical consumption S&SE's is head and shoulders cheaper than anyone else. Don't base your decision on something like more nectar points as these can be taken away.

These tariffs are not on general sale so as Premier said you will need to ring up to get a quote and also find out the eligibility criteria.
