Well today I got an upgrade on my mobile phone so I have searched for the best cost for recycling my current phone and will soon have £41 winging its way to me which will go off the mortgage :j

I also have over £200 that I have made through Mystery Shopping but some of that belongs to the taxman and also fuel costs. So I am going to say that £150 is profit (I do have a proper spreadsheet for tax purposes but it obviously doesn't cost me 30p a mile in fuel to drive but that is what I'll claim for due to the extras)

So add that to the £30 in my bank already I will soon have £221 to make a payment off and I'll get OH to match it :j

Oh and I am waiting for some cashback to clear as well so should be able to knock another £100 off once that clears.

I have earmarked £700 for my Dad and then I can start paying off the £1K in small bits.

Going to set up a new bank account this week as I am fed up of the service i get with current one. Might go to Lloyds as mortgage with them.

    I just remembered!

I'm due £125 from road tax I cashed in at the beginning of this month!

I am so forgetful! Might put that in the emergency pot or use it to pay off debt!

    Welcome to the board.

I'm off on maternity leave too, my youngest is 4 1/2 months. I'm not going back to work til October/November though so really need to try and cut back. Also I'm only going back 22.5hrs and will have 2 in childcare

I think I'm going to have to set up an emergency fund too, as I've been doing well at making overpayments, but we don't have much in the way of savings at all....

Sounds like you're doing great already! I was thinking of attempting some MSing when I'm on maternity leave, how have you found it? Is there a lot of work available? (I really don't know too much about it, apart from skim reading the thread on here)

There isn't much work at the moment - whether its because it's the end of the financial year or just because there are so many shoppers there's less work.

A lot of clients specify no children so I can't apply for much, also the thead as shown it can be hit & miss as some of us see jobs that others don't due to age and area.

I spoke to a mortgage advisor today who said it sound like for every £1 we borrowed we will be paying back £3 so more incentive to get it paid of (I must try to find the paperwork) :o

Any tomorrow - I will sort my car insurance out (with cashback of course!) and ring the bank to find out the details of making overpayments.

My car tax refund came today - went straight to the bank to pay it into the account that I have my Dad's money in and the stupid bank closed at 3pm!

I wondered if more shoppers meant less work, everyone on MSE seems to be doing it!

I think the mortgage calculator on here would work that out for you if you know your interest rate?

Finally got round to ringin them!

So for every £1 we borrowed we pay back £2.13 - that should make it nice on the eye when we start making OP. :j
I have the account details as well so no stopping me now!
