i have got an Acer travelmate laptop which i bought from tesco a few months ago. It only has 256 memory and i want to add a bit more. How hard is it to do? i have little knowledge on installing hardware but i am willing to give it a ago. Is it just a case of plug and play? It has 256 at the mo, can i add another 512 stick or does it have to be another 256?
This is ram i have found http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=19493&ft=m&st=3
what do you think of the price?

You can add one extra memory module so it's up to you.marbar2k wrote:how hard is it to fit?
If you are asking this, you should read the manual that came with the computer!

Fitting should go something like this:

And remember Quidco for Crucial!

Fitting is really easy. Mind you when I added RAM to my Acer I stupidly didn't use a sensible screwdriver to remove the cover on the laptop base so had some trouble removing. Once the cover is off you just slip it in. However you may need to put the larger sized chip in the socket already filled and move the existing chip to the other slot. But this is really simple. If you can put toast in a toaster you can do this.0
