                                  in Credit cards

Quick question. I have just been given a 25k limit on a new gold card. Can i transfer this to my egg card- currently -10k and then move it over to my account? Can i do it in one go? Do egg worry if i am in credit by 15k? Otherwise i will need to do 3 BT from FD to egg and i am not sure whether this will cost me?
Thanks
                Thanks

Be-aware you cannot do 3 BT to the same card provider only 1 BT per provider with FD0

Thanks thats what i was worried about.
Will it be ok to transfer the full 25k over to egg and be in credit with egg?0

I would feel somewhat uncomfortable at transferring such a chunk of money in one go. Yes, you can only transfer to a credit card once. I don't know whether it's an option it you take out a Blue Egg card - you would have to check with them, as to whether that counts as a different card, i.e. Green Egg and Blue Egg.0

I have been sent the application form for FD Gold as a result of a general enquiry - is it better to apply for FD Black first as I have read on this forum that after the promo period you can switch but cannot recall seeing if you can go from Gold to Black? Does FD Gold have a higher credit limit than black (though I note they guarantee £3000 minimum if accepted)?
 Many thanks

I don't think there is any difference in the upper credit limit, they both max out at £25k. The gold one just guarentees your minimum credit limit.
I went for the Black card first. You should be able to switch Gold-Black but you can definately switch Black-Gold, so I'd suggest starting with Black to be safe. Don't forget to ask for your 6 free bottles of wine too.0

Well i have taken the plunge. Rather nervously i have transferred 24800 from a first direct gold card to my egg account - all online.
I will let you know what happens!0

May as well cancel my question - I have been turned down for their current account due to credit scoring ;-( therefore unlikely to get offered a credit card?

            How did it go, Zain?
Unfortunately I've just transferred £14k of my £25k First Direct Gold card credit limit to my Egg Green card, before reading this thread. Does anyone know if I can transfer the remaining £11k to my Egg Blue card (and then onto a current account for stoozing purposes) at 0%, or can I in fact transfer it straight to a current account at 0% without incurring charges?.0

I did it about four months ago in three stages and it all went ok, without a single hitch!
I don't know whether the rules have changed but i was certainly allowed to transfer across in stages.
The minimum payment is between £7-800 so be careful with having that amount in your account.
It looks like i will be paying the balance off soon as i cannot find anymore credit cards to transfer to. They all seem to be rejecting me- but i have nearly 45k stoozed- so fair enough!
 Hope it goes well.0
