Re-Claiming Tax Credits - Backdated / DLA

I was recieving DLA and Tax Credits
My DLA ended (As did tax credits) and was waiting for an appeal for DLA
I won my appeal and got my DLA backdated

Im now having problems with Tax Credits, They put it back on the system that i am getting DLA again and put the date to the day after it ended etc but its not generating any payment schedule
Ive been ringing up for a couple weeks and they didnt know why its not paying me tax credits, they said as i went over a week without any tax credits my claim was closed and ill have to re apply.

My DLA was up around 15th Jan (and has now been backdated till that date)
My last tax credits was 15th Dec (Do they pay in advance or for the previous 4 weeks?) - Im now waiting for my new claim pack to fill in, but what date can i backdate to now as ive been on the phone to them for weeks - could have put the claim in earlier if they knew why it wasnt paying me

Also, Old DLA was up 15th Jan my new DLA letter says DLA from 16th Jan, will i need last years too if i want to backdate it from 15th Dec - when i got my last Tax credits,

Check that Tax Credits have your DLA ending on 15th Jan as it sounds like they may have an incorrect end date if there is a gap

Yeh they have the right end date, as they told me they put im getting DLA again from the day after claim ended (start again 16th Jan)
They didnt know why it ended early, thought i would recieve a few more weeks payment between 15th Dec and Jan when it ended

I get paid 4 weekly so would have been due 12th Jan (around the time DLA ended) but will have to double check the date it did end the DLA to make sure as it was def Jan but cant be certain of the date atm - assumed 15th jan as thats when it was backdated to

Actually you may be right, im rubbish at finding the paperwork when i need it
Found a letter about my Blue Badge (Which ended 2nd Jan) - which i think runs in line with my DLA, so maybe DLA ended 2nd Jan - but new DLA they only started from 16th Jan

Think i need to ring up DLA check all dates and see what Tax Credits have on file

Prob need to re apply for Tax Credits from 16th Jan - New DLA, and just leave the old one now

Also check they have the 'include from' date correct as this can affect it!! Does pretty much what it says on the tin, your DLA might have started earlier but if the 'include from' date is later then your DLA won't be included til the later date!! Best checking all this before you re-apply, would save a lot of hassle!!

Just to update... well still no news really.
Still havent recieved any payments and still their computer isnt generating any either

I have recieved a new claim pack, going to try and get them to backdate to 15th Dec when i got my last payment (More than 3 months) due to its not my fault their computer wont generate any payments etc.
Also rang DLA to get them to send me a letter with all my DLA start/end dates etc

They said to ring before sending the new claim pack in for Tax Credits, to try again.

They have the date my DLA ended and put the date it started again (Next Day) but i was thinking maybe if they delete the date it ended and left it as a continuous claim that mat work... will ring again tomorrow!

Also, after every time i spoke to them i get a letter a few days later with my 09/10 award saying im Not entitled and have been overpaid just under 2k (All ive recieved) lol Ill be glad when this is all sorted

Still no news another month on... last payment was 15th Dec - have had no money since

I rang Tax Credits, they tried to restart the claim (which failed) so was sent a new claim pack instead a month ago, but when i rang up again this week, they said they hadnt processed my new claim pack but was trying to restart the claim - again which also failed again!
Why they asked me to fill in a new claim when they didnt event process it (They said they disregarded my new claim to carry on with old one, even tho it wouldnt work)

They said my new options were to try to restart it again (no point but they said they could try sending out manual patments - giros, till it 'restarts') and had a date of 31st july on the system - which is wayyyy too long. or they could send out yet another new claim pack!

But as they can only backdate 93 days from the date claiming, i would miss out on over 1 month or 2's worth of claim. I finally got them to process the pack i sent off a month ago, so at least if that works it will hopefully be 93 days from the date i filled that in!

Just gota wait another 3-4 weeks now for this new claim - which was sent to them a month ago - to take effect!

    Grrr so stressed!

Take all the paperwork and dates etc you have to the CAB and ask them to contact tax credits for you.

They may take more notice of them.

Your other option is to involve your MP, but I'm not sure how the elections will impact on that...

I think i may have to go see the CAB now

After i spoke to them on 21st, they said they wouldnt try to restart the old claim again (for July 31st) but would now process the claim i sent them a month ago

Rang again today - and was told they havent even recieved the claim i sent a month ago, and its still down for 31st July

May have to full in a NEW claim form - again! but by the time they get that and can only backdate 93 days, i will have lost out on over 2 months of payments then! Grrrr

I really cant be doing with this now!

    STILL no money
they are going to pass my details on - yet again!
They still have my old claim (Due to be looked at 31st july) on the system so my new one i sent (recieved 30th March) isnt getting processed.

Last payment was 15th Dec! - So stressed about this now :(

Ive wrote an complaint letter and sending that in now, which i have to wait 15 working days for a reply before contacting the Adjudicator's office (looking into complaining somehow)

Or after tomorrow - or sometime soon i could contact my MP but was advised to sent the complaint letter first

Ive finally been paid - Backdated till dec and they looked at my award from when i first claimed and have been underpaid a lot too so had a nice cheque in the post too!
This was all sorted with the complaints department who were very good at dealing with my claim.
They paid so much from Jan - April - Jan was when my DLA ended etc, Then worked on this tax years from april onwards and got my payment schedule for this tax year
As my last payment was in Dec not Jan when my DLA was up, they calculated how much i should have recieved that tax year, and how much was paid and sent a cheque for that lot

Someone else from tax credits also set up manual payments for some reason, while the person from complaints was already dealing with it, so ended up with extra payment (overpaid) from this tax yr, april onwards. So just got to sort that now.
I didnt realise it was an overpayment till i cashed it, so think my payment levels will be reduced a bit now. just got to make sure it doesnt happen again
