Hi, I've just managed to get hold of one of these (I gather it's a 3310E). It's old and has no instructions. What's on the dials is pretty self explanatory, but on one dial it has two 'off' positions, a 'heat' position, and a 'motor' position....Can someone tell me what the 'motor' position is for, please? When would I need to use it?

I seem to remember from using my mum's as a kid that you filled it up, set it to heat up to the required temperature and then set it "agitating" once it was up to temperature. Could it therefore be that the positions give you a choice of either heater or moving? Possibly the amount of power drawn by the heater meant that you couldn't have the motor running at the same time without blowing the fuse.Adventure before Dementia!0

I'm not sure really. One of the other dials (there's 3 in total) has a 'empty tub' position, and a 'wash/spin' position. I assumed the 'wash/spin' position was all I'd need to get it washing/agitating. But now, I'm wondering if perhaps I need it set on motor as well?

Here is the best place to ask: You will need to register but plenty of collectors who will be able to help.

Hi,
Not sure what my model is, without dragging the TT out, but the panel looks like this:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rob.goldfish/tempfiles/twintub.jpg
The lefthand knob has to be on Wash when you want to wash (pretty obvious) and right hand knob starts/stops the wash and sets the time (turn anticlockwise.
The middle knob is Off, Spin when lid is shut, auto rinse (will wait until spinner is partly full and then spin. And the wash heater.
Note, the washer does not work when the heater is on.
And the center dial must be set on Spin, or Rinse for the washer to work.0
