Welcome to the world of M&S online sale shopping!

There are numerous threads on this forum filled with similar experiences.

Despite many many complaints to M&S, it never really improves much.

(I'm a veteran of several of these sales. The best approach to take to them is to not expect to get anything you order. That way if you actually get anything at all, then it's a bonus!)

My Sis ordered some M&S stuff online few days ago and this is the first time she ordered something online. She doesn't use her card for anything part from tesco shopping once a week at the store. Yesterday she had a call from Western Union saying can i speak to Mrs M ? She said yes, speaking. Then the other lady asked if there is a another Mrs M in the house? My Sis said no. Then they said someone trying to use your card to send money. My sis asked them what's my card number, and the lady gave her the card number and she knew the address and then she told my Sis to call the bank and cancel the card.

She is very upset because she hardly use her card on anything and how this has happened? We don't know how people got hold of her card detail but she did ring M&S and they are looking into it.

Sorry about the long post. I just thought i will let people know so we can keep our eyes on our bank statement.

Is it possible that your sister has a virus/trojan on her PC? Get her to go to the following link to install a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security or from this page she could run a virus scan (again for free).

I would doubt that this incident has happened because they used the M&S site as payments are processed using a secure site. It is far more likely that the PC used is infected and the credit card details, name, address etc were stolen while purchasing from the M&S site.

Never have any trouble with online purchases from M&S and have been using them for about 3 years now.
You can now get stuff delivered free to your nearest store. Handy if like me you have a travel pass, does't cost anything. Have ordered quite a bit with 25%extra off.

Got an e-mail the other day saying one of the items I'd ordered was out of stock. (Then why did the website let me buy it and not show it as out of stock?) Then got an e-mail today saying the delivery of goods ordered had been delayed - was due to pick them up tomorrow. Then got another e-mail saying the choices were not available (what does that mean??) and that my order had been cancelled, and i could look again at the website to see if i liked anything. Ummm, I don't think so!!!

Yep I've had the same thing! Had an email, saying one item was out of stock, then an email saying there was a delay in the order, went to collect the remaining bits today, only to be told it was all out of stock, and that they had emailed me 2 hours earlier to inform me!

Can they really get away with this shockingly bad customer service?
