Eon review - direct debit to double!
Options
I've just had my payment review from Eon and they basically want to double my direct debit payments.
My latest bill shows that I am in credit by about £35 which I know isn't much but as we are coming to the warmer months (hopefully) I don't see how they can justify such a big increase.
I intend phoning them to get this figure reduced as I cannot afford to pay this extra. I am prepared to pay for what I use of course but would prefer to pay any excess by increasing the direct debit for THAT month or quarter.
I am currently on their SaveOnline tarif.
Does anyone have any comments/advice before I phone them.
Thanks

Hi ih8stress,
May I ask how much the Direct Debit was and how much E.ON wishes to increase it to?
Coming out of the coldest part of the year with a credit on your account and the Direct Debit increasing seems slightly odd.
Is the current Direct Debit amount the same as it’s always been? Or was it at anytime higher and then lowered?
Maybe the Direct Debit was lowered earlier in the year due to excessive credit but the amount it was lowered to would have still allowed you to obtain a near zero balance at this moment in time. Yet over the course of a full year the current amount is far to low.
That would be my first thought. Sorry for all the questions.

Hi Brian. Thanks for the reply. I'll just need to go and look at my paperwork and get back to you before I can give the answers.0
