I have never done party plan before so its a big step.

I will keep looking at this board for tips and advice to make it work.

If anybody has any ideas for starting up eg where to find the people who would like a party then i would be really greatful to hear of them.

Good luck with your new venture LMN, I am sure you will make a sucess of it and if its not for you then as long as you have covered your joining fee you haven't lost anything. I joined back in August and had recooped my joining fee after 2 parties, wasn't sure if I would carry on after gaining the first free kit, but now I am addicted. Any questions feel free to message me, but with the new monthly incentives they offer to party goers it can only get easier. Tracey
  • Thanks.
How easy or hard was it to get people to host the parties?

I am a Pampered Chef consultant - I started in Sept last year. I was approached to do it after I went to a show. I love the stuff and was attracted by the idea of getting my hands on lots of their products and earning a bit of pocket money. I was very dubious though as other friends had done Usbourne etc and not done very well. Anyway, I have done 22 shows and done £7600 in sales - I get 20% of that paid to me twice monthly. I love it! I have been given extra products which is great too. They are a very professional company and the level of support is amazing. You can do as little or as much as you want - I know people who pay their mortgage with it. I just do it so I can buy my kids nice clothes! I do one show a week which si enough for me - there is no pressure to do anything. I get 1-2 bookings per show.

    Good luck!

Hardly suprising the reps can pay their mortgages. I just looked at their prices.

What's even more annoying is how , yet again , the British are being ripped off.
    Compare these two sites:
    http://www.pamperedchef.co.uk/stoneware uk site.

    http://www.pamperedchef.com/stoneware us site.

And before anyone starts telling me about shipping costs, I've done 12 years in the Transport Industry and there is no way you can justify that price difference.

    So £3400 a month?

    Sounds a bit unbelievable.

I make that a commission of £1,520 from sales of £7,600 if the commission rate is 20%. That wage is self employed (so pre tax and you don't get any holiday pay or sick pay allowance on top of that plus it excludes any fees or stock the consultant has to pay for so a lot less that it first appears).

£7,600 over 22 shows is £345 a show on average, given the price of their goods I would imagine each customer spends at least £40 so that figure seems believable...although I would imagine those 22 bookings would have to be spread over several months, I can't see many people getting 22 bookings in a month with a significant number if people at each show.

Sounds like an excellent way to bring in a little extra...far better than doing surveys and clicks and things like that.

I've been 'Pampered Cheffing' for just over a year I love it! I make a simple recipe (e.g. Pizza) whilst demonstrating fabulous cookware to small groups of people, in affect you get paid to party!

You start by earning 20% commission on party sales, an average show is around £300 in sales, so you would earn about £60 per Cooking Show. Ask 6 friends to host your first 6 shows, then send off for your Kit (costs £110 and has over £320 worth of products). It arrives within 5 days complete with fabulous products, training information, recipes, everything you need & they'll work with you to make sure you're set.

Bookings haven’t been a problem for me, I think enthusiasm is the key!

Whether you do one Show a week or one Show every other month YOU can choose. NO pressure, NO targets, NO deliveries.

If you need a flexible way to earn an income being a Pampered Chef Consultant is PERFECT FOR BALANCING FAMILY LIFE it's that extra cash for after-school clubs, road tax, and the credit card. Its loads of fun with loads of team support, and you are rewarded for your efforts at every level.

I am not sure whether it has been said yet but it is preferable that you choose a product that is going to generate repeat sales. Thats the idea. so for example a lipstick runs out the customer returns to you - or you phone them back three months later to see if they need a restock. The only problem I can see with the products like casserole dishes etc is I question how many you need ? of course the good sales person will then offer something else. Personally I'd stick to consumables which you can replenish. I enjoy party plan and I think that if you incentivise your customers to book parties its not too bad looking for more parties. I've not had a problem yet. I am asking a question about forever living products on this forum - yet to get a response. I am interested to see what peoples experience is of that. I have always done party plan and been happy but looking at forever living I think their commission is higher. This is a good table. http://www.comparextraincome.com/ It is also worth finding out about their stock levels, if you can. For example how often are there stock problems. My avon lady was always having to come back to me saying sorry that it out of stock. I just kept picking those popular choices. Consumables - what are the cost for any brochures. Do you have to pay for the hostess gitts. Loving the products a must or you won't sell them. Its not really practical to run with more than one company at a time in my opinion. You are self employed so you need to be motivated to generate your own work. You will earn money if the commission structure is there. It is much better than a part time bar / supermarket job etc so I wonder sometimes why more folk don't do it. It is I guess the fear of selling. Selling isn't that hard if you love the product and you just recommend it. What you could do is request a few brochures from some companies you are interested in - their sales brochures that is. Look at them with your friends and ask them which would they buy from and why ? so your own market testing after all they will probably be the first crowd you sell to. say I am looking to start my own business can you help me with deciding what to do. The chances are they will then later book a party with you !

oh some might disagree but on average most people spend £25 pp at a party... so you can roughly do your sums with that - in my opinion.
