  • My hubby used to be a mechanical engineer, but got into building by accident and fell in love with it. He became a self taught plasterer and now does it as a business.....he has built up a very good reputation in the area, but in the beginning it was a case of practice practice practice!
    Good luck
    £900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x
  • I know a couple of people that have followed the instructions

Here and have sucessfully plastered in their own homes.

The tools are not expensive and neither is the plaster, have a go and if you screw up you can pva it and try again, if that fails get a pro plasterer in.

At least you have tried then without splashing out the £300 for the course.

Thank you all for your replies.

    Lots of good advice.

The whole house needs plastering, because when the council built it 30 odd years ago they just wallpapered over the plasterboard! As we do each room we want to plaster as we go.

I think i will let OH plaster upstairs first and see if practice does make perfect

If not i think i will get a professional in for the rooms that are on public view!

Thank you all for taking the time to give me advice.

I'll let you konw how we get on.
