Sweet potatoes are apparently a distant relative of bind weed and grow from sections of root - a bit like strawberry runners. Its traditionally been very hard to get decent crops off them in this country as its not warm enough for long enough. Looks like Suttons are trying to get around this.Adventure before Dementia!0

Aprils edition (out now) Grow Your Own magazine has a small article on page 65 about sweet potato.
It says sweet potato generally arrive as slips or cuttings (some suppliers do stock potted plants). You can sprout a sweet potato bought from the shop to produce your own slips but named varieties for growing at home are bread to do better in cooler climates so you would get a better yield if you pay extra & buy them in etc.......... it goes on to give info about sweet potato slips.
Was quite interseting when i came across this as i too had wondered why i didn't see the seeds!0 -
