just a quick question. I am going to paint my ceilings myself. Do i need to wash them down before painting. it appears to be concrete and appears to have only one coat of paint on it.
I am just going to use the once over paint which covers crack and paits at the same time.

depends on how dirty they are. and if smokers use the rooms?
if so, then use sugar soap to clean it first, otherwise dont bother.Get some gorm.0 -
As ormus says, sugar soap is the best way
get all the furniture out and lift the carpets if you can, otherise you'll need dust sheets over absolutely everything, as paint splatters everywhere - mostly on you and your face though ;o)0 -
Paint pads make fewer splatters than a roller."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

If you wear specs either take them off or wear an old pair
