Disneyland Paris disabled pass and queueing

When it comes to the disability pass - I wonder if any of you could clear up a few things for me?
o Does it cover Adults?
o Does it cover Mental Health Disabilities - even if say "to the naked eye" the person appears to be normal, but has severe mental health problems?
Thanks in advance!0 -
Hi everyone, this is my first post. Just back from Disneyland Paris and the parks and park staff were wonderful, especially with my Asperger's daughter.
Martha, I can confirm that as long as you take proof (DLA letter etc) to City Hall (once you are through the park gates turn left at the bandstand) then disabled adults with learning/mental impairment are given the green card.
My daughter was given the card and the conditions were clearly explained, e.g.
- the carer takes responsibility for helping the person on/off the ride and in cases of emergency,
-there are different numbers of carers/family members allowed to go with the DP on each ride (usually 2, but up to 5/6 on small world etc)
-only 1 carer per DP can use the special disabled viewing points
- some rides operate a take a ticket and come back at the allocated time system
I was particularly pleased that the person who issued it took time to explain the pass to Melissa as well as myself, treating her with respect.
On most rides you just head for the exit just look for the staff and they will point you in the right direction. They are generally helpful, only a couple questioned who the pass was for.
You do, occasionally get funny looks from people in the queue, but I think a 21 year old being on holiday with just their parents pretty much screams disability so most people were fine about it.
No need to arrive early for the shows in Disney Studios, just get there 5 mins or so before show starts as there are plenty of nice comfy seats in the middle reserved solely for disabled people.
We did try and queue for a couple of rides, and it wasn't too bad, but word of warning, DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, GET IN THE QUEUE FOR THE LILO AND STITCH SHOW. You get herded into a holding pen where it is literally every man for himself. Make sure you let the staff member see your card and I am sure they will then take care of you. We hadn't realised and spent 5 mins of pure hell in that pen as my DD got more and more anxious and you have no way of attracting attention as there are no Disney staff in there with you.
And one final warning, whilst the Finding Nemo coaster sounds sweet, and does have some nice scenery, there is a bit at the end where it gets dark with strobe lighting and hurls you about so much you feel like you have been on Space Mountain. I am not kidding, beware!
The pass says it cannot be used in hotels/restaurants but when I showed mine to the waitress in Planet Hollywood and explained Mel's limited diet she let her eat off the kids menu.
Enjoy your trip.0
