Halifax Reward Account - Warning

I can't believe what Halifax are doing. I logged in to check my account and as is usual now before you actually get to your account you have an ad page where they offer you another product e.g fixed rate web saver for 1 year at 3%.
TODAY when i logged in i was presented with a screen titled Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account and it looked like i had to sign up for it at £12.50 a month, there was no go option to decline the offer, just a next or back button. All i want to do is be able to log in and check my account, it's that simple.

Ive just logged on without that coming up. Just a survey box came up as I logged off so I just closed it down.

No such screen when I just logged in, just a Credit Card offer.

Ring them (or pop in to a branch) and ask to be removed from all forms of marketing.

This online approach usually fills a full page and if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is usually an option to progress to your normal account screen.

(If you tend to spend a lot of the month overdrawn by up to £300 the charging structure on the £12.50 account, combined with the account "benefits" may be an improvement for you).
