Being made bankrupt by the vat man!

    I didnt think would make him bankrupt with out some hope of retreaving some money although they have told him that because the debt is nothing to do with me and our age they would leave the house alone.

    If a bankruptcy goes through then the creditor has no say as to what assets get realised or not.

    Thanks for your answere l know there are no easy way out but would you say to wait for HMCE to bankrupt him or bankrupt yourself first.

    my husband has been served with statutory demand by The Revenue and Customs. He was told by the man who served it that it would be followed up in 21 days by the summonds to go to court for bankrupcy.It is now nearly six weeks and he still hasnt heard.Is this usual because the waiting is taking its toll on his health.Would you phone them to find out why the delay many thanks

    HMRC aren't human. They don't care whether they get a single penny from it, or indeed it costs them money. End result= case closed. I know, I've been there. And they NEVER bluff. If they say they are going for BR they are deadly serious

    Thanks for your comments we know this is going ahead as you say they are doing it because they can. My husband has,nt any assets so they will not get any money.Do you know what time scale we are looking at and what happens when you go to court .
