Cause it's a breakdown, I'm go'n breakdown,
I'm gonna break, ain't no you can do
cause it's a breakdown,
a m****rf***in' breakdown,
who said that nightmares don't come true?
Breakdown (ha-ha-ha, ha ha ha ha) (4x)
Says it all, really. My shiny new washer, much beloved of Spender Towers, is kaput. He is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!
Well, almost.
The engineer arrived ... late. He opened up the top of the washer and showed me the charred remains of the motor. "There's been a fire in 'ere," he said. A fire!!! What did I say ages ago about me and electrics?
He offered spare parts which may take yonks to arrive. I suggested a replacement machine. "Oooh," quoth he, strokingeth his chin, "I can't authorise that."
Half a dozen phone calls later, and the shop from whence it came said they'd let me know. Tomorrow. Or sometime.
Back to the launderette, kind friends and handwashing for a week or so then.
I've over my anger. For now.
Anyway, I'm off to the Dutch mountains for the weekend, so no room for moodiness, eh ladies?
And thank you all for your kind [STRIKE]washes[/STRIKE] wishes. The bug has decamped, obviously terrified that if I can do THAT to a washer after five months, it may be in for trouble.

Thanks taxi - it's not even five months into its year's warranty so I've covered.

min in my pre dfw days when i bought this place i had washing machine problems (for that read i hadn't bought one yet!) and i found it easier to just buy lots of new clothes and pile the washing to one side until i could get a washer...
i highly do not suggest you follow this path, it leads to high amounts of debt, lack of wardrobe space and a giant smelly pile of knickers in the corner!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
personally i'd go with kidnapping the repairman...maybe next time he'll be worth kidnapping!0 -
