I have also just joined up with DooYoo. Seems quite good so far, have done a couple of reviews.

Quick question though - do you get points for people's ratings on your own reviews? Cos I've had 3 'useful' ratings and I appear to have acquired an extra 45 points!

Is quite fun so far, am enjoying it! :D

    Yes you do.

Have a read of other people's reviews as well and rate them. Gives you an idea on the sorts of things you should be including. :)

Where does the time go?
  • I've been on Dooyoo since 2005 and it has never let me down in terms of payments. I generally go for Amazon vouchers as I aim to write enough reviews for a kettle/toaster etc..

Definitely give other people's reviews ratings or else people will stop rating yours.

The basic payment structure on dooyoo is

500 points which is 50p for each review you write
15 points which is 1.5p for every time a member reads your review
1500 points which is £1.50 if your review is deemed to be detailed enough by the guides and other members and merits a crown
    £10k in 2010 £44 / £10,000
Debt Free Olympic Contender No #90
    Total - Approx £40,000 Paid - £54 Outstanding - £39946
    Turn £100 into £10,000 - £109.03/£10,000

I'm hoping to get enough for my first Amazon voucher by the end of the week. I have been a member for a few months and found the points really easy to get. My average review is around 300-400 words long, and I find it really useful to read others reviews to see the type of things I should be using. I also check out reviews before I buy any new make up now!

I don't rate others reviews that much, well obviously I do if I read them, but I generally only read them if I am going to review a product or I am actually interested in buying that product, but I still get some views on my reviews, which helps my points go up.

Fingers crossed they pay out when I reach 20000. I will let you know if I have any problems.

A lot of people on Dooyoo would feel that unfair and not in the nature of things. What if nobody reviewed any of yours? You will see in a lot of profiles that members refuse to review, unless they too receive reviews off that person. Think about it.

When I look at the 'New reviews' page, I don't click straight into the review, I click into the person's profile and see how many reviews they rate. If their rates given is very outnumbered by their rates recieved, I don't read or rate their review. If they can't put the effort in, neither can I.

Heed what stebiz has said above.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but what are the rules around posting the same reviews on Ciao & Dooyoo? Am I right in thinking you just need to add a note to say that you have done that?
    Thanks in advance

You can. I don't bother. Lots of people put at the end of each review something like 'also posted under my username on Ciao' and vice versa or put something in their profile about posting on both.
  • I'm personally a user of Dooyoo, and part of the problem with people having their accounts taken away is because of them "cheating" to the payout threshold.

This tactic basically consists of a sentence or two such as "This is a good product" followed by a string of nonsense characters. This, basically, means people can write 100's of reviews in no time for very little effort and for this reason Dooyoo withdraws their accounts, simply because it is meaningless having their reviews upon the site. This isn't the only reason people have their accounts revoked, but you get the gist.

I can reassure you that for the duration of my time of Dooyoo I haven't had any problems with the company and they have always been very helpful when I have consulted them with regards to the way the site works etc.
