Washing Powder Adverts

It really gets me how these adverts are trying to sell you their product by saying this powder 'Z' is better that our own product 'Y'.....so what they are really saying is that their previous product is rubbish and we wasted our money buying it and they mis informed us when they were advertising that particular product.

Completely agree. Aren't the vast majority of products developed one way or another over time to improve them?

And it's not a new concept, "new and improved" washing powder ads date back to 1950s.

The Vanish advert gets my goat. They dip a stained garment into a bowl of Vanish and WHOOPEE it comes out clean,
So why does my wife have to scrub and soak my sons football shirt in Vanish before putting it in the washing machine, only to find it needs another wash !

    Totally agree!!!

I used it to try and get mould off some net curtains and it didn't work.

I also don't believe that washing at 30 degrees gets clothes clean.

Still. Not as far fetched as the Cillit Bang advert!!!!!
