E & L are normally pretty good and refund the difference if you find a cheaper quote anyway. Have a look here

Just a word of warning about E & L. Read the small print on the small print very carefully before you take their insurance out.

I had my Horse insured through them, which included third party, so when the horse spooked and "sat" on the side of a car, the last thing I expected to happen, was to find myself in court as E & L and the car owner fought over libaility. E & L won the case as the car driver admitted she did not switch off her engine, just let it run idle while my horse rode past. She was left with costs which ran into thousands of pounds which she had to claim on her own car insurance.

E & L won the case on a technicality (sp?) which was the result of small print, on small print on even smaller print which states that drivers are fully expected to abide by the current highway code rulings, and at that time, it was advised that all drivers of motor vehicles should switch off their engines when livestock are on the road. (can you imagine the chaos this would cause in Newmarket!!!)

I found The Caravan Club was always the cheapest and best when I had my caravan. Even taking the membership fee into account. There are alot of advantages insuring with them including bargain car ferry prices.

We've just bought a brand new caravan and paying the £33 to join the camping and caravanning club saved us £120 on the insurance.
