Scottish power thanking me for switching to their micro business tariff

I switched to Scottish Power about a month ago. They said they would put me on their online dual fuel tariff but have decided they won't know as the house I bought has prepayment meters and they won't change them for 12 months.

They sent me a new gas card but they still haven't sent me an electric key.

Today I've had a letter off them saying thanks for switching the supply for my small business to them and they'll take it over within 4-6 weeks.

I'm not a business, and I don't run any sort of business from my home.

Has anybody else had one of these? Have they just sent out the wrong letter because I've tried to switch back to British Gas who have said they will remove my prepayment meters as they have credit checked me?:embarasse

    I'd just give them a call and discuss it with them. Could be a computer error.

    Hi naked

    It would appear that your tariff has been put onto a business tariff rather than a domestic tariff resulting in this incorrect letter. This should be easily rectified if you contact us.

    I'll phone when I get home from work - I forgot to bring the letter with me today.

    Just seems bizarre - As far as I know I've not done anything to prompt them to change my tariff all of a sudden!

    Phoned them today. I got put through to the prepayment people in the end who said just ignore the letter (no explanation though) and for some reason I was down as being on their business tariff paying by direct debit.

    I mentioned that I hadn't received an electric key from them and they said something about only the gas had been swapped to them :think:

    Sounds like something went wrong in the switching process.

    Probably. Give them another call and mention the electricity.
