Magazine adverts rant

So I brought "Marie Claire" magazine for the freebee on the front (which is great, no complaints there) but WOW, I can't believe people waste their hard earned money on this drivel.
After flicking through it, I decided to count the number of pages with adverts on (too much time on my hands maybe!) and out of 323 pages, 154 of them are adverts, baring in mind this is no cheap magazine at £3.50 - you wouldnt buy a book of adverts would you! Thats basicly what they are selling you here. I know this is a fashion magazine, so hence alot of photographic pages, but I swear if you put it all together there would be about 3 pages of actual writing.
Also, on a slightly different note I think its sighty offensive that this months article about helping the people of Hati is broken up by adverts of £1000 bags from Versace...

Yes magazines like that should be banned eg now etc, they contain a fair amount of drivel which isnt interesting to say the least, id rather stick a fork in my eye than read what cheryl cole is doing after splitting up from the twit ashley or what kate winslet is upto0

I bought my first (and last) issue of Marie Claire when I was stuck in London City airport waiting for s delayed flight. I was mad to discover that the first actual page, i.e. not an advert was something like page 33. I can't remember if it was January of February issue but basically I reckoned more than half of it was just adverts which I certainly don't intend to pay for. There are other mags which have lots of ads too but this one really seemed to be taking the p***0

Oh so do I don't get me wrong!!!! But I did'nt count those in because some people look at those I suppose...0 -
I never know who buys these magazines - they cost a fortune and are full of vacuous rubbish. People who aspire to buy £1k handbags, I suppose.
Mags like Now, OK, Heat etc are just plain unhealthy. Either obsessed with celebrities who are too skinny or too fat, or full of headlines like, "Raped by my brother and left for dead".0 -
My wife buys Now, Closer & OK religiously and I've got to say I do read / flick through them and have a chuckle.
She think I'm mad for buying Top Gear! Pah.... women!!0 -
The worst magazine I have ever found for advertising has to be Cosmopolitan. I bought it 3 times and after the 3rd month I got fed up of the adverts and stopped buying it. It is simply ridiculous!0
