I not blaming you for doing as you do, but I do find it unsatisfactory that the US is effectively requiring people to lie in order to get into the country. They should be stating clearly what offences they consider acceptable, so that people don't feel obliged to lie about minor offences. It seems as if they do no checks into the truth of what people put on the form, with the result that an honest person risks being penalised much more than a dishonest one.
