this is the story so far with my tv......
....i bought a Samsung LCD 40' tv in May 07. in April 09 the Power Supply Unit had to be replaced as my tv kept switching on and off. the engineer came out 2 days after the call and it took him 20mins to repair it.
on 1st march '10 we called currys as the same problem was happening again. this time the tv had to go in for repair as we were told that they now had to be done in a dust free enviroment.
we were told, at first 5-10 days, then when they came to pick it up we were told 14 days.
last Friday OH phoned to check on progress, he got told 'it will take 21 days as we have a lot of work on, check your agreement'!
well i phoned on monday to clarify which dates were true.....21 days so it seems!
that leave until this sunday to get it back. if it doesnt then i can claim a new tv.
ok a new tv sounds good BUT i'm so annoyed with the crap customer service from this company and the fact the agreement states an engineer will call 2 days after the initial phone call, to fix the tv and this didnt happen.
nearly a month without a tv has driven us mad and caused a lot of boredom.
21 days, i feel is unreasonable and i'm still paying for SkyHD.
well i got the tv back today at 2pm..................
.......at 5pm it was switching off and on again!
its going back in for ANOTHER repair on Friday. the 21 day rule is still running so they have to get it back to me by 21st, which is sunday.....somehow i dont think this is going to happen.
a complaint has been lodged with them.
Where do I go with this Now?

This does not sound too promising for me, i have a problem with a part inside my samsung comming loose and also told that when they come it will be 10 days, i know they have upto 21 days from the time you called otherwise they write the product off. They said if this happens they will send a voucher in the post with the same specifications as the tv which has gone faulty. I Think this is a bit of a con as you can get a tv now for nearly the price the insurance would have cost back then.0

The 10 days is only if you have the Premier Club warranty otherwise its 21 days.
i believe they have to send vouchers to the original cost of the product but they will cancel your agreement and send vouchers for the remaining term costs to buy another one. AS IF YOU WOULD!
They have broken contract with me so the FSA might be getting a call.
I will avoid this company in future.0 -
nothing really to add other than my samsung lcd tv messed up also - wouldnt buy another samsung again. seems most of them break after a short time (usually just outside the warranty)‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0
