Where can I hire a Dog Run/Large Cage

Does anyone know if you can hire such a thing (in the Cheshire area) I don't want to buy, as I would only be needing it for 6-8 weeks , but to purchase you are talking hundreds of pounds.
We are having some building work done in the summer which will take about 6-8 weeks and rather than keep the dogs in the house, (no doubt they will be barking continuously) I was thinking that whilst the builders are working it might be an idea to keep them in the garden. This way, I know they couldn't escape next door and also wouldn't have to be watching them every ten minutes. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks

Don't know where you can hire from but two things that may be of use.
Firstly Freecycle/freegle you may be able to get one from there. When you have finished with it just put it on for someone else.
Also, contact your local animal rescue centres. They may be able to help and the extra cash would be welcome.
Hope you get sorted out.
Good luck.0 -
I don't know where you can get one but just wanted to say I think it's a good idea. We had building work going on for almost 3 months just before christmas and the dogs had to stay in the front room, it about drove them (and me!) bonkers. Unfortunately they couldn't go in the garden at all as they'd have got in the way of the builders (and prevented them from working by constantly demanding fuss!) so they got extra walks instead but every time I went to make the builders a drink they would attempt to escape for some attention - about drove me batty - and now I've got a 3rd! You gotta love your pooches0

Depends on the size of the dog, but I've used something like this before. Small ones would be able to get under though.
The fence panels sit in very heavy concrete blocks and when fixed together are really stable. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

Yes, good idea about freecyle. Even if we can't find an actutal dog run or cage, maybe we can get a couple of kennels between now and June and then my OH can make something (not sure what or how yet!)

Thanks for the link. They would be absolutely perfect if our dogs were bigger, but they are a Jack Russell and a Jack Russell cross and like you say they would probably get out under them, but it has definately given my OH some ideas, so thanks again.

Your dogs sound like mine, nosey and noisy! but at least they let you know when there's someone about - welcome or unwelcome...0 -
Not made them for a dog but I have made very large runs for rabbits.
How secure is your garden? Can they escape? It might be easier to secure the garden or corden off part of it.
When ours was a puppy we got a second hand play pen from a car boot which we could put her in (with some of her toys) sometimes for a while when we were busy, bigger than a cage but would only work with a puppy or perhaps a very small dog.
Other option maybe, could they go to a relative or friend during the day while the builders are there.0
