Hi All, was hoping to get peoples thoughts as we all seem to be going through the same horrible, stressful process!!
I accepted an offer on my property approx 10 weeks ago and had an offer accepted on a new house at the the same time.
In a nutshell I have nothing more to do on my new purchase (bar exchange and complete!).
I was informed today that my buyers lenders require more information from them to complete the underwrite and submit the final mortage offer.
They have requested (from my buyer) a letter to confirm her full name (the bills etc she originally submitted had maiden and married surnames on them) and some bank statements (something to do with how they are supplying the deposit apparently.
My buyers are sending the letter but have mislaid some of the bank statements required and is requesting copies from their bank.
Providing this is done asap what time frame am I looking at to exchange and completion date? Also are these normal requests or should I be concerned that the mortgage offer will be refused......thanks in advance!!:)

The mortgagee has to do standard ID checks. If there was a disparity of names (maiden Vs married name etc) it is understandable they want clarification.
How long? Impossible to say I'm afraid. House buying is uncertain and stressful. Just take a deep breath and be patient.0 -
if its anything like our mortgage (which was already in my name but just needed to be applied for and granted in me and my partner's name, so a new application), which is with barclay, it was a nightmare. i submitted (it was always my documents that were a problem), sheet after sheet after sheet, of bank statements, pay slips etc etc.
they lost the first lot
then couldnt understand the payments on the pay slips when i sent another lot in
then lost the 2nd lot
then found the second lot but said that a form which we had never been sent was vital and wasnt in the bundle
then said we shouldnt have been offered the mortgage offer without the said form,, so couldnt confirm there was a mortgage offer
it went on and on and on, (bear in mind, i have had this mortgage on my own for 2 years before this)
we complained, we moved here in June, so far we have only received a holdin letter, saying they are looking into our complaint. we dont expect to hear anything else from them and the quicker we get this paid off and rid of them the better0
